While living in California, Peter Radon would go on rock spotting adventures, hiking where he knew certain stone to be found. When he first saw each piece in nature, that he would later hand carve and polish, he could already see where the bowl part of the vessel would be carved out, as if the rock already had it engrained and told him so.
